UBA’s former Deputy MD, Apollos Ikpobe resigns

United Bank for Africa Plc has announced the resignation of Mr. Apollos Ikpobe, a former Deputy Managing Director of the Bank effective 11 June 2015.

The resignation of Mr. Ikpobe was duly accepted by the Board of Directors of the Bank at its meeting of 15 June 2015.

Mr. Apollos lkpobe has been Deputy Managing Director of Domestic Bank at United Bank for Africa Plc since 2013. Before joining UBA Plc, Mr. lkpobe served as an Executive Director at Zenith Bank Plc until August 31, 2012.

He has work experience spanning audit and internal control, financial control, business development and relationship management with over two decades in the banking industry. Mr. lkpobe worked with various establishments including Ernst & Young (formerly Oni Lasebikan & Co. from 1988 to 1990, a firm of Chartered Accountants, Insight Communications Limited in 1990 before to Zenith Bank in 1992.

He has worked in various capacities in Internal Control & Audit, Treasury & Financial Institutions, Corporate Banking and the Bank’s Apapa Zone. He has over fourteen years banking industry experience. He has been a Director of United Bank for Africa Plc since May 22, 2013. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in 1999.

He has attended numerous management and leadership programmes which include: The Corporate Leader – Harvard Business School, the Advanced Management Programme – Insead, Leadership and Team Effectiveness – Yale Business School, and the Advanced Management Programme – Lagos Business School. Mr. lkpobe holds a Masters degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos in 2002 and an Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting from Yaba College of Technology in 1987.
