Tinsel Star, Iretiola Doyle recounts how she was robbed in Lagos Traffic

It must be a traumatic time for Nollywood actress, Mrs. Iretiola Doyle as she took to her twitter yesterday to reveal her frightening experience with robbers on Lagos traffic.

The incident which occurred on October 14 around the Ilupeju Area of Lagos has moved her to call on Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode to tighten security in the state.

According to her, the whole point during the election in Lagos was to vote for continuity, which should be reflected in lawfulness and safety on roads.

“Good to be back on the grid after losing my phone to robbers in traffic. Is there a new Sheriff in town? The touts who have taken over the motorways during traffic don’t seem to agree,” she said. The Tinsel star wondered what Ambode and the police were doing about the state of insecurity in the state, insisting that the return of thugs on the streets of Lagos was a sign of disrespect and complete disregard for the present leadership.

“Did LASTMA leave with Fashola? While the Governor is defining himself, there should not be breakdown of law and order. Why the abrupt collapse of the existing system? People are being attacked every day,” she said. The actress who plays the role of Shiela Ade-Williams in the popular Africa Magic Soap Opera, Tinsel used the opportunity to advise Lagosians  to remain vigilant while driving, adding that such cases were on the increase and women had been the main target.

Interestingly, Mrs. Doyle’s on-screen Character, Shiela was robbed a few weeks ago, though that was an assassination attempt disguised as robbery, the real-life traffic robbery may just have given her a fright.
