The police has declared the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, wanted.

Melaye was declared wanted along with Mohammed Audu, son of former Governor Abubakar Audu of Kogi State.

Both men have been placed on Interpol watch list according to a statement signed by Kogi police commissioner, Ali Janga.

Melaye and Audu are accused of providing false information to the police in relation to an alleged attempt on the lawmaker’s life last year.

The police also on Wednesday confirmed the escape from custody of suspects arrested and paraded last week for allegedly working with the duo.

Six suspects involved in the arms case against Senator Dino Melaye have escaped from police custody in Kogi State.

The Kogi state Commissioner of Police, Ali Janga, confirmed this in an emailed statement on Wednesday, adding that 13 policemen on duty at the ‘A’ Division, Lokoja, have been detained over the incident.

He said the escaped suspects include, Kabiru Seidu a.k.a Osama, Nuhu Salisu a.k.a Small, Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed.

“Consequently, all the six suspects, Senator Dino Melaye and Mohammed Audu were sent for watch-listing and red notice by the INTERPOL for immediate arrest anywhere we see them,” the CP stated.
