Plagiarism:I will meet Akin Fadeyi in Court-Lai Mohammed

Following a letter written to President Muhammadu Buhari over the controversy surrounding the “Change Begins With Me” campaign based on allegation that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, stole the idea from one Mr. Akin Fadeyi, Mohammed has said he was ready to meet Fadeyi’s attorney in court.

Speaking to journalists after unveiling the “Change Begins With Me” campaign to Corporate Nigeria in Lagos yesterday, the minister said Fadeyi’s allegation lacked merit as he (Mohammed) had completed work on “Change Begins With Me” campaign on October 14, 2015 before meeting Fadeyi in December 2015.

It would be recalled that in a letter to Buhari dated September 29, 2016 and signed by Fadeyi’s attorney, Adebayo Adenipekun (SAN) of the Afe Babalola Chambers, the lawyer alleged that the idea behind the “Change Begins With Me” project was Fadeyi’s brainchild and the Minister of Information and Culture only adapted it as his own without credit or compensation in form of payment to Fadeyi.

But Mohammed in reaction to Fadeyi’s attorney said: “I was nominated as a minister sometime in October and the moment I was nominated, I called my team and I said the most important thing to do is to change the attitude of Nigerians and the way they do things.”
