Osinbajo absent as President bids goodbye to worshippers of Aso Rock Villa Chapel

 The rumour mill was agog that on Sunday, May17th, 2015 there will be  a sort of change of guards between President Goodluck President Goodluck Jonathan  and Vice President-elect, Prof. Yemi OsinIMG_20150517_202445bajo that did not happen.

Instead at the same venue, Aso Rock Villa Chapel, there was a thanksgiving service for the first family. And it was at this occasion that Mr. President formally bid goodbye to worshippers and men of God.

 

 

ATT_1431896397392_IMG_20150517_202437The very colourful and convivial event filled with loads of praises and prayers saw a very appreciative Mr. President thanking all and in exchange the worshippers present gifts to the First family and also showered them with gifts.

In his speech, President Jonathan thanked worshippers for their support all through the years and asked that the first family be forgiven for any imperfections. He wished the new government well.

First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan also spoke, revealing that she was grateful to God because she never dreamt she would be First Lady.

She regaled the congregation with her battles at the hospital, where she was wheeled to the theatre and her near-death experience. She thanked God for saving her life after four tedious operations in Germany.

The Chaplain, Venerable Obioma Onwuzurumba, in his sermon noted that he would miss the friendly nature of the first family and he was sure that this would be the same feeling for other members whose lives, the first family has impacted during their stay

He prayed for God’s protection on the family and wished that Nigeria will continue to progress as a new administration takes office.

The Chapel Committee as well as the children’s church presented gift items to Jonathan, his wife and his mother, Eunice. There was also a dance drama by the children.

Then Mr. President and the family members danced to the altar for a special thanksgiving session where her expressed gratitude to God and was prayed for and blessed.
