Onnoghen: Group Gives FG Ultimatum

A rights group, Occupy Nigeria, yesterday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, protested the suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen and the Chief Justice of Nigeria and gave President Muhammadu Buhari a two-day ultimatum to reinstate him.

It also urged the National Judicial Commission to sanction Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed for accepting to be sworn in as acting CJN, describing it as “ungodly judicial coup.”
The leader of the group, Tony Ile, alleged that Onnoghen’s suspension had returned Nigeria to the dark days of anarchy.

He said: “This unfortunate development has openly shown the utmost desperation and determination of Buhari to rig the forthcoming general elections across the country in favour of his party, the APC.
