IG Solomon Arase again: Redeploys 27 ACPs as Frank Mba returns to Lagos

Barely weeks after moving some Commissioners of Police, Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase in his bid to inject more impetus among the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force has approved the redeployment of 27 Assistant Commissioners of Police.

Among the redeployed officers is the former Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, who has returned to the Lagos State Police Command as the Officer in Charge of Area “E” Command, Festac, Lagos. The Officer formerly in charge of that Department, Dan Okoro has been moved to Akure, Ondo State.

Furthermore, Emmanuel Ngwu, who was ACP in Charge of Operation will resume at the Force Headquarters, Abuja where he will work closely with former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti. Ngwu’s position in Lagos will be occupied by Julius Okoro.

The former Commander of the Lagos State Special Anti-Crime outfit, the Rapid Response Squad, ACP Hakeem Odumosu, is now the new Area Commander in charge of Western Port, Port Authority Police Command Lagos. While Tunde Adagunduro, in charge of Area F Command, has now been transferred to Owerri, Imo State, while Edward Ajogu will take over that position. Patrick Longe, Area H Commander, has been transferred to Awka in Anambra State, while Aliyu Haruna takes over his position.

Mba studied law at the University of Lagos, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002 and also holds a Masters Degree in Law from the University of Dundee, Scotland, UK. The former police spokesman who hails from Ezimo in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, was the best graduating cadet Inspector in academics at the Police Academy, Kano, in 1993 and is fondly remembered as the urbane Police image maker who always exudes intelligence, little wonder he was well-loved.

He will assume duties following the completion of an executive course at Harvard University and a three months intensive training at the Federal Bureau Investigation National Academy, Virginia, USA.

On the other hand, Ajogu, a former Personal Assistant to one of the retired IGPs and former Area Commander, Akure holds a BSc Degree in Political Science from University of Ife and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
