” I will not give up my divine mandate” Gov. Emmanuel tells Akwa Ibom people

Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel has said that he is committed to the protection of the divine mandate freely given to him by the people across the state as their destiny is anchored on it.

The Governor stated this when he received some Political Stakeholders in Oruk Anam Local Government Area  who came on a solidarity visit at the Government House, Uyo.

Governor Emmanuel said that the mandate was anchored on God and that the people had taken a decision  which cannot be compromised.

He said he would reciprocate the people’s gesture by providing access to wealth creation as well as employment generation through industrialization.

The Governor used the occasion to call on contractors executing various road projects to take advantage of the dry season that is approaching and fast track their work in order to meet the scheduled time of completion.

The stickler for perfection maintained that he would not hesitate to revoke contracts that  are delayed or found to have been done below specification.

Earlier, the Leader of the delegation and member representing Oruk Annam State Constituency in the Akwa lbom State House of Assembly, Hon. Udo Kerian Akpan, said that the visit was informed by the recent tribunal verdict which categorised Oruk Annam as one of the areas where a rerun election is to be conducted and that as in-laws, they came to express their unwavering support to the Governor.

The Lawmaker noted that the rerun election, if at all it will hold, will be another opportunity to reconfirm the divine mandate earlier given to the Governor by Oruk Anam people.

Also, the Leader Oruk Anam Leadership forum Chief Sylvester Edem, asked the Governor not to be distracted but focus on the exceptional performance he is already putting in place in the state. He urged the Governor but should stand firm and strongly pursue his industrial and economic blueprint for the people.

Similarly, Chief Sunny Okoko, Madam Grace Ikpo and Prince Akpan Ikpong, in their speeches assured the Governor of overwhelming victory stating that the thirteen Political Wards in the area, are intact and would be delivered overwhelmingly for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), when any election is held.
