Fabio Borini will leave Liverpool after Sunderland have £14m bid accepted Liverpool have agreed to sell striker Fabio Borini to Sunderland after accepting a £14m bid from the Black Cats on Friday. Borini spent last season on loan at the Stadium of Light and played a big part in ensuring Sunderland’s survival in the Premier League after scoring crucial goals towards the end of the campaign. After the club had a £10m bid for the 23-year-old rejected by Liverpool, The Telegraph have reported that Sunderland’s improved offer of £14m has now been accepted by the Reds. Borini became Brendan Rodgers’ first signing as Liverpool manager when the Italian arrived from Roma for about £10m in 2012. However, the striker netted just two goals in 20 appearances during his first season at the Anfield outfit after being plagued by injuries.
