FA clears Mourinho of abusing ex Chelsea team doctor, Eva Carneiro

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been cleared of using discriminatory language against former club doctor Eva Carneiro after the Football Association analysed audio footage of the incident between the pair.

Carneiro came under fire from Mourinho on the touchlines in the dying minutes of Chelsea’s opening-day draw with Swansea City after she ran onto the pitch with head physio Jon Fearn to treat Eden Hazard.

The doctor’s entrance onto the pitch meant the Belgian had to be taken temporarily off, leaving the champions with nine men as Thibaut Courtois had been dismissed earlier in the game.

Mourinho was seen shouting at Carneiro as she returned to the bench, before he later said he was unhappy with his medical staff for being “impulsive and naive” as he felt Hazard was not injured.

There were suggestions Mourinho had used abusive language towards the 42-year-old, but the FA have now confirmed they will take no action against the Chelsea manager after they said they were “satisfied that the words used do not constitute discriminatory language under FA Rules”.
