Customs Rake In N308m In 4 Months

The Federal Operations Unit, Zone `A` of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Friday said it recorded a revenue of N308 million between Sept. 17 and Dec. 15.

Mr Uche Ejesieme, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Unit, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

He said that the unit recorded 2, 719 seizures with a Duty Paid Value of N1.8 billion in 11 months covering January and November.

Ejesieme said that in November alone, the unit intercepted 287 seizures with a DPV of N174. 6million.

He said that 13 suspects were arrested in connection with the seizures made in November. Ejesieme said the six-point agenda of the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Alhaji Dikko Abdullahi, assisted the command in boosting anti-smuggling drive.

“We also got support from inter-agency collaboration and synergy with the stakeholders, particularly the maritime operators.
