Confusion:Supreme Court says Oduah, Andy Uba duly elected

What exactly is happening? The Supreme Court today has affirmed that Senators Andy Uba and Stella Oduah are duly elected, barely two weeks after it had stated that the primaries that presented them as candidates was not proper as the State Executive that conducted it was null and void.

The Supreme Court  had upheld an earlier decision by Justice Chukwu of the Federal High Court laying out the proper procedures for selection of the PDP’s legislative candidates. In December 2014, the Federal High Court had ruled that it was only the constitutionally recognized state party leadership led by Ejike Oguebego that could organize the party primaries. Despite that ruling, a rival faction of the state chapter of the PDP held a parallel primaries in the state, that Primaries produced Ubah and Oduah as well as many House of Reps members.

Interestingly it was the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that approached the Supreme Court for an interpretation of the earlier judgement.
