Chelsea ‘agree deal with QPR for transfer target Loic Remy’ According to The Mail, The Stamford Bridge outfit made contact with QPR just hours after they confirmed that out-of-favour forward Fernando Torres had secured a two-year loan move to AC Milan. With the Spain international departing The Blues, Diego Costa out of action with a hamstring injury and the club’s move for Roma’s Mattia Destro hitting the rocks, Chelsea stepped up their interest in Remy to reinforce their attacking options. Remy’s release clause was set at £8million for a team in the Champions League, £11million for clubs in the top six and £15million for any other club – but Jose Mourinho’s side have now met the player’s exit clause. The France international had been close to sealing a switch to Liverpool this summer but saw the move collapse following a failed medical. The 27-year-old impressed while playing on loan at Newcastle last term after netting 14 goals in 26 Premier League matches.
