Boko Haram: Emir Denies Fleeing Palace

Chief John Elias, spokesman of the Emir of Mubi, Alhaji Abubakar Isa in a statement made on Wednesday in Yola during a press briefing denied the reports.

Chief John Elias said that the Emir, who is state Amirul Hajj left Mubi on Sunday for Yola to attend a meeting to prepare for the 2014 Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.

He said: “We are dismayed by media reports regarding the emir’s departure from Mubi for Yola on 7 September 2014.

“Let me put the record straight here; the Emir did not leave Mubi for Yola to escape from the insurgents.

“He left Mubi to attend a meeting with members of the committee for the 2014 pilgrimage to the Holy land,” he said.

Chief Elias, contrary to the reports that Boko Haram attacked Mubi has denied the claims adding that those who fled the town did so as a result of fear of attack.

 

The Boko Haram sect have continued to carry out their incessant attcks in the North, killings thousands of people.

There are reports that the Boko Haram Insurgents have taken over Michilka Town in Adamawa state.

 

As a result of the terrible attacks and havocs caused by the Insurgents residents of the affected area are fleeing the state from fear of their lives.

Just recently on Monday, September 8, former President, Olusegun Obasanjo’s son, Lieutenant. Colonel Adeboye was shot by Boko Haram during an attack in Baza, Adamawa state.

Meanwhile a video has surfaced showing Nigerian soldiers and civilians fleeing from massive Boko Haram attack in Michika town in Adamawa state.

On September 9, it was reported over 40 members of Boko Haram were reportedly killed by troops  from the 1 Division Kaduna, 3 Division Jos and TRADOC, Minna during a fierce battle at Vimtim in Adamawa state.
