AMOSUN, OSOBA GROUPS HOLD SEPARATE CONGRESSES

All Progressive Congress (APC) has been preaching the gospel of change which it hopes to spread to all parts of Nigeria, but it seems it has not done enough to convince its own members in Ogun State-as two separate congresses were held yesterday.
The cracks in the party worsened three days ago, when an appeal panel set up to reconcile the warring factions between those loyal to former Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba and present Governor Ibikunle Amosun ended in chaos.
While the Amosun group congregated at the MKO Abiola Stadium, the Osoba which has Senator Gbenga Kaka as a prominent member held their parallel congress at Kidoto’O Hall, Quarry Road in Abeokuta,
It should be noted that it was only at the MKO Abiola Stadium that reporters sighted  INEC Officials and they were led by a Mr. Dickson. Atiba.
In his remarks, Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun urged selflessness among party members. In his words, everyone must be willing to give and take in order to move the party forward.
Governor Amosun said there was need to sacrifice personal interest for the overall interest of the party. “The task to move our party forward in this state is a collective responsibility” he stated.
Perhaps referring to the other group, he noted that the party was not meant for only one family or one big man but was a platform for all progressives to contribute to the growth of society.
At the end of voting at the MKO Abiola venue, Roqeep Adeniji emerged the new Chairman of Ogun APC while Chief Olu Agemo, was voted in as Chairman at the parallel congress.
Justifying the move to hold a parallel congress, Senator Gbenga Kaka said members of the Osoba Group have been completely marginalized within the party. He further accused Governor Amosun of running a one-man show.
