Aftermath of arrest:EFCC seizes Alison-Madueke’s passport

Following his arrest and interrogation yesterday, sources say the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has seized the passport of Rear Admiral Amaechina Alison-Madueke, husband of the embattled former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The anti-graft agency may have taken the action to restrict any intention he may have to leave Nigeria  pending the conclusion of its investigation.

About two other ‘business associates’ of the ex-Minister were also said to be in EFCC’s custody’s last night.

The arrest was said to be in connection with the ongoing probe of the activities of his wife, Diezani, the ex-minister.

Diezeani Alison-Madueke  in January 2016 was spotted  at the Charing Cross Police Station in London.

According to a report on Television Continental (TVC), Mrs Alison-Madueke was granted bail and given a June 21, 2016  date to return.

Last October, the former Minister was arrested by the UK National Crimes Agency, alongside four others. She was accused of fraud and money laundering in the United Kingdom and one of her bail conditions is she must not leave the country.

Diezani in an exclusive interview with Dele Momodu and The Boss Newspapers did not give details of her arrest but revealed that it had to do with transactions when she was Petroleum Resources Minister. She also confirmed media reports that she had been struck by cancer!
